Who I am

This site, haveitforbreakfast.com, is run by Yann Caloghiris, based in Los Angeles, California ("I", "me"). I am responsible for the personal information collected here. Contact: yann@forbreakfast.club.

This site is personal. It is not run by, and does not speak for, my employer or any client.

What I collect

WhatWhere it comes from
Name, email, organisation, event date, audience size, budget range, how you heard about me, and your messageThe inquiry form, or an email you send me
When you started the form, and the first and latest page you came in onHidden fields in the inquiry form, so I know which talk or episode brought you here
Basic usage data: pages viewed, referring site, device and browser type, approximate location from your IP addressServer logs and, if enabled, privacy-friendly analytics (see Cookies and analytics)

I don't ask for sensitive information, and please don't send it. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent me personal information, contact me and I'll delete it.

How I use it

I don't sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. I don't use it to train AI models, and I don't put your messages into public AI tools.

Who sees it

Only the service providers I need to run the site and my inbox, acting on my instructions: my web host, my email provider and, if enabled, an analytics provider. If you ask me to work with your speaker bureau, agent or event team, I share what's needed with them. I may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect my rights or someone's safety.

Some of these providers are in the United States. If you write to me from outside the US, your information will be processed there.

The articles live on Substack at articles.haveitforbreakfast.com. If you subscribe there, Substack holds your email address and handles the newsletter under its own privacy policy. The list of recent articles on this homepage is fetched by my own server, so showing it sends nothing about you to Substack.

Cookies and analytics

This site loads its fonts and scripts from its own server, so visiting it doesn't send your IP address to Google Fonts or to a script CDN. The site doesn't use advertising cookies. Short, silent video loops play from this site, and links to YouTube, LinkedIn and other platforms only connect you to them when you click.

I use Google Analytics to see which pages and episodes people find useful, so I know what to improve. It only switches on if you say yes in the box at the bottom of the homepage. If you say no, or your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, it stays off and no analytics cookies are set. Google receives your IP address and device details when it is on; I've asked it to shorten IP addresses, and I see visits only in aggregate. Your choice is saved in your browser, not on my server.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

I honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information, which I don't do anyway. There is no common standard for "Do Not Track" signals; I don't track visitors across other sites, and I don't let third parties do so here.

How long I keep it

Inquiries that don't turn into work: up to 24 months, then deleted. Inquiries that do: for as long as the engagement lasts, plus the time I'm required to keep business and tax records. Server logs: 90 days at most.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask me to show you, correct or delete the personal information I hold about you, or to stop contacting you. Email yann@forbreakfast.club with "Privacy" in the subject. I'll reply within 30 days, may need to confirm your identity first, and won't treat you differently for asking.

California residents

Under California law you can ask what personal information I've collected about you and how it's used and disclosed, and ask me to delete or correct it. I don't sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act, and I don't use sensitive personal information. If I change this policy in a way that matters, I'll update the date above and say what changed.

EU and UK visitors

I process your information to take steps you ask for before a contract and to perform one (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)); for my legitimate interests in running and securing this site and replying to messages (Article 6(1)(f)); and, for analytics cookies, with your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time. Besides the rights above, you can object to processing, ask for a portable copy of your data, and complain to your local data protection authority. Transfers to the US rely on the safeguards my providers offer, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, the form has spam protection, and access to my inbox is protected with strong authentication. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, I'll tell you and the authorities where the law requires.
