How I use AI.

Humans start it, a human mark is in it, humans approve it, and I answer for it.

Last updated 3 November 2026

I use AI every day, in my work and on this site. Here are the rules I follow, so you know what you are looking at and who stands behind it.

01A human starts it

Every piece begins with a person: an idea, a brief, a conversation with a guest, a question from the audience.

02A human mark is in it

Each piece carries something real that a person made: a photograph, a video, a voice, a transcript, a sketch, or the clicks and decisions of design work.

03A human is at the gate

Nothing goes out because a model produced it. I review, edit, select and approve every piece before it's published.

04A human answers for it

I am accountable for what this site shows and says. If something is wrong, it's on me to fix it.

What that means on this site

Images and motion

Some images, collages and animations are made or finished with generative AI tools. They start from my own photographs, video, design work or brand artwork. Photos of me on stage are real photographs, sometimes cut out, retouched or set into paper-collage layouts. Some episode artwork, such as thumbnails, shows me redrawn in the show's collage style from my own photos.

Headline clippings

The newspaper-style clippings are props. Most are illustrative, written to reflect the kind of coverage AI gets, and they never show a real publication's name or logo. Where a clipping uses a real headline, I keep a record of the source and can point you to it.

Podcast guests

Guest images come from their own episodes. Some episode artwork redraws a guest in the show's collage style from their episode footage; I only publish that with their OK. I never create new statements or voices for guests, and their quotes are their own words.

Words

I write with AI tools the way I write with a good editor: to research, structure and tighten. The opinions, the arguments and the final wording are mine, and I check facts against their sources before I publish.

Voice and video

Episodes and talks feature my real voice and real footage. Where AI is used to edit, clean up or translate audio or video, the meaning stays the same.

The AI-native test

The quiz runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you choose is stored or sent anywhere. Its facts link back to the episode or source they come from.

Labels

When an image, video or audio clip could be mistaken for a real recording of a real person or event, I label it as AI-generated or AI-altered. Creative and artistic work, such as collage, illustration and title sequences, is disclosed in a way that doesn't spoil the work, for example on this page and in the footer. Some files also carry machine-readable provenance data added by the tools that made them.

What I ask of AI tools

The fine print

AI-assisted content can contain errors. Content on this site is provided for general information and is not professional, legal, financial or technical advice; see the Terms of Use. Under current US Copyright Office guidance, material generated entirely by AI may not be protected by copyright on its own. I claim copyright in the human-authored parts of this site and in the selection, arrangement and editing of everything on it.

If you think something here is inaccurate, misleading, uses your likeness or work without permission, or should carry a label it doesn't, write to me at yann@forbreakfast.club. I review every request and correct or remove material where it's warranted.
